A Garden Surprise

Hello my friends,
Don't you love it when you're driving along a country road and you happen across a delightful place?

Yesterday, while we were returning to Brenham after visiting Waco we came across a delightful shop in the town of Independence.

When I spied this sign I wasn't sure if it was an antique store, or gift shop; but knew we had to turn around to see.

Much to my delight, it was a garden shop.

This creative arch made from clay pots, and purple fence lead us to a whimsical garden with unique outbuildings.

This building was originally a corn crib.

As we wandered the grounds, we found lots of great arbors and a few gates.

There was beauty and whimsy along every path.

Whew!  That's a lot of photos!  I know that if you're a garden gal, like me; you didn't mind.  (wink)

Why not a few more?
This is the first sight I saw as we were driving down the road.

I love these structures made from rebar.  A lot had plants growing on them that were just starting to flower.

I could have spent hours here!  Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
hugs,
I will be sharing with these fun parties:

Thank you for turning back and having your camera charged . . . this was such a fun tour. The only thing better would be to see it in the summer when everything is green and in bloom. You might just have to go back :)
I could look at garden photos all day long, LOL.
Happy weekend!
Connie :)

WOW! What a find that place turned out to be! I could spend half a day there, I think. There are some unusual things there that I haven't seen other places--which is alway fun. Glad you got to experience it up close and personal. xo Diana

So glad ya'll are visiting our wonderful state of Texas! Brenham is a really fun town and has some great antique stores as well as being the home of Blue Bell ice cream! The Antique Rose Emporium is a must-see. If you are going to Dallas, be sure to visit the Dallas Arboretum. Right now the Dallas Blooms event is going on there and has 500,000 spring blooms! It is truly amazing!

I love looking at pictures of gardens, flowers and their settings. I'd love to see this in a month or two when it's in full bloom. I hope you can go back and take some more pictures! Love the flower pot arch! (it must have cost a fortune to make it) Thanks for sharing your wonderful discovery and have a wonderful day!

Boy am I feeling inspired now! I am loving all the arbors and trellises too. We are putting in a backyard fence in a month or so and I cannot wait to make my own view so I can have a nice trellis and arbor on it.
